The Across-strait Conference on Astronomy Science was successfully held in Urumqi city from Aug.13th to 16th. The conference was jointly hosted by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the K.T.Li Foundation for Development of Science and Technology, and organized by Xinjiang Astronomical Observatory (XAO).

Yang Junlin, Zhan Wenge, Head of HK, Mocao and Taiwan Affairs Office of NSFC; Deputy head of Department of Mathematical and Physical Sciences of NSFC; Chen Wei, Director of K.T.Li Foundation for Development of Science and Technology and Deputy director of XAO delivered speeches respectively in opening and closing ceremony. The main topics of the conference included star evolution, cluster, planetary science, small solar system body and solar radio burst etc. During the period of the conference, the participants visited the Qitai site of XAO.

The conference enhanced the communication between the astronomers, and promoted the cooperation between the participating organizations.
