From June 24th to 26th, 2013, Professor Christian Henkel from Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy had visited XAO.
During this visit, Professor Henkel gave a presentation entitled "New Masers, Physical Constants, Densities and Temperatures: From Effelsberg to ALMA" to research personnels. In his report, Professor Henkel introduced the first detection about ammonia masers in different transition radiation towards the external galaxies and the latest observation results on extragalactic ammonia and formaldehyde spectral lines using the Effelsberg, VLA and ALMA telescopes.
Professor Henkel discussed with the star formation and evolution group members about some ongoing missions and put forward some reasonable suggestions. Both sides will pursue close collaboration on issues of the ammonia and formaldehyde observational studies.
