Radio Astronomy Technology Research Division
The radio astronomy technology research division at the Xinjiang Astronomical Observatory, Chinese Academy of Sciences, focuses on the development and optimization of key radio astronomical technologies and observational methods. Its research covers microwave receivers, antenna structure and control, antenna measurement, and electromagnetic compatibility. By employing observational equipment such as the Nanshan Radio Telescope and the future QiTai radio Telescope, the division seeks to accelerate breakthroughs in core technologies and ensure the continuous enhancement of equipment performance, thereby providing fundamental support for astrophysical research.
The division consists of seven technical research teams:
1. Microwave Technology Laboratory
2. Antenna Technology Laboratory
3. Digital Technology Laboratory
4. Nanshan Radio Telescope Operation and Maintenance Group
5. Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineering Technology Research Center
6. Kashi Station
7. QTT Engineering Team
The division has received multiple provincial and ministerial awards, with many of its innovations directly applied in astronomical research and observation. The division plays a critical role in advancing radio astronomy technology and in supporting the construction of the QiTai radio Telescope.
