Xinjiang Key Laboratory of Radio Astronomy
Xinjiang Key Laboratory of Radio Astronomy primarily engages in observational research in radio astronomy and related technologies application. The laboratory is strategically positioned at the forefront of international astronomical research and is dedicated to addressing national strategic needs such as lunar and deep space exploration. Relying on the superior radio observation environment in Xinjiang, it aims to build an open platform for advanced radio observation research and to cultivate a number of radio astrophysics research teams with high standard outputs, making significant contributions to the scientific and technological improvement of Xinjiang and the astronomical research development in China.
The laboratory continuously expands channels for domestic and international cooperation and exchanges, strengthens in-depth bilateral and multilateral collaborative efforts with universities and research institutions in worldwide, and conducts research into cutting-edge issues and on major scientific facilities both domestically and internationally. It has made substantial progress in collaborative research involving multi-band joint observations with space and ground-based telescopes, gravitational wave detection through the Chinese Pulsar Timing Array, and new radio astronomical technologies. At the same time, in response to the "Belt and Road" initiative, it has enhanced innovative cooperation with relevant research institutes in Russia and other countries in Central Asian.
